Bleeding Following Breast Augmentation

Here are some steps to help you if you have bleeding after breast implant surgery. First, visit your surgeon. A draining technique can be used to drain the blood and reduce pain and swelling. To prevent blood loss, they can also administer a blood thinner.

Hematoma

The late occurrence of hematoma after breast augmentation is extremely rare. Although the cause of hematoma is not known, it can be attributed to a polyurethane-coated implant or friction forces between the prosthesis and surrounding tissue. Ibrahim et al. Willens, et al. reported cases of late bleeding in women who received bilateral submuscular silicon gel breast augmentation. Cases of late bleeding were reported nine to 38 year after breast augmentation.

While the condition can be uncomfortable, it isn't serious and will usually go away on its own. The best ways to manage hematoma are to avoid strenuous activity, sleep on your side, eat healthy foods, and use an ice pack. In severe cases, a second surgery may be necessary to drain the hematoma.

Seroma

Symptoms of seroma bleeding after breast augmentation may include pain, swelling, and discharge. These symptoms often appear between seven and 10 days after surgery. Seromas that aren't treated promptly will disintegrate within a few weeks. But larger seromas could take up to a whole year. Surgery may be necessary in extreme cases to remove the seroma. You can treat your symptoms at the home.

Blood supply disruption is the cause of seroma formation. This disrupted blood supply can lead to tissue loss (known as necrosis). Different surgical techniques may result in seroma bleeding at different rates.

Post-operative bleeding

Minor bleeding after breast-augmentation is normal. While excessive bleeding should be avoided, it is not usually serious. After your surgery, if you notice bloodstains on your clothes, cover it with tissue. You may see blood dripping from the incision. This is normal, but it could indicate more serious bleeding. If there is excess blood, consult your doctor.

The cause of post-operative bleeding can be several different factors. Post-operative bleeding can be caused by several factors. Post-operative bleeding can be prevented by wearing compression clothes that restrict movement and press on the wound. You may need to have the bleeding vessels stitched if there is excessive bleeding. Additionally, if you have a tendency to bruise easily, you are at a higher risk of bleeding. For two weeks, avoid taking aspirin or blood-thinning medicines before and after the surgery.

Treatment

After breast augmentation, infection can become a serious problem. The surgeon will have to remove the infected implant if it is not healing properly. A new implant will be placed after waiting three to six month. Fortunately, the cost of the procedure includes the costs of dealing with infection. Although some patients may experience some asymmetry, this is not a problem.

Bleeding from breasts can be quite common. You can treat it by decreasing the amount of blood. While most cases resolve quickly, persistent bleeding can require additional surgery to drain the hematoma.
